About Us

Iestyn studied the Art and Techniques of Glassmaking at Stourbridge College of Art, the UK’s industrial glassmaking heartland, and was invited to attend the Royal College of Art on placement. On graduating in 1985 he joined Stuart Crystal, becoming the first colour designer in the company’s 100 year history.

Since then he has taught hot glass design at Wolverhampton University, established the hot glass studio at Broadfield House Glass Museum under the name Osiris Glass, and in 1993 teamed up with his wife Bev to found his own studio, Blowzone. Their glass art pieces have been sold in more than 600 art galleries across the world.

In 2000 Iestyn started experimenting with pieces combining materials such as cast and machined acrylics, stainless steel, and other metals, with the emerging technology of LEDs, and in 2006 the Contemporary Chandelier Company was born.

Contemporary Chandelier Company designs, builds and installs sculptures in light and glass that simply cannot be sourced anywhere else. Building on over 30 years’ experience of working with blown glass, we combine this beautiful material, skilled craftsmanship, and the latest technologies to create a unique collection of chandeliers, wall lighting and water features.

We specialise in large installations and centrepieces, tailored individually to enhance and complement their specific setting. Whether indoor or outdoor, residential or commercial, each project is developed in an informed conversation between client and designer, often initiated by overlaying the design onto architectural drawings. Consequently each project is original, distinctive and completely bespoke.

All our creations are handcrafted in England and we produce only a limited number annually. Most are destined for residences in the UK, but we increasingly welcome clients from all over the globe.
